LICANUL: The powerful kingdom of the giants.
In the wake of the Kersefy event, giants emerged from the same primate subspecies that gave rise to humans. While the small primates were transmuted into humans, the great primates transformed into the imposing giants.
Giants, although they have remarkable longevity, cannot compare to the longevity of elves. Initially nomadic, due to food shortages, the encounter with the elves in the Great Valyria region changed the fate of the giants.
Under the leadership of the cunning giant Lycanul, they chose to trust the elves, who guided them to the current region in which they live and shared ancient knowledge on how to use resources efficiently.
To preserve the balance of the ecosystem in their village, the giants established a law that regulated permission to have children. The discovery of keresphite runes by the elves made it possible for them to test and modify specific foods for giants, preventing smaller beings from consuming them due to adverse effects.
With the combination of improved food and elven wisdom, the giants were able to expand their kingdom while maintaining a carefully controlled population.
Every year, a party is held to celebrate the settlement of the giants on that land, inviting all species to participate.
However, peace was interrupted by the Great War. Initially neutral, the elves called the Lycanul into battle when the dwarves threatened to take the giants' territory. The elves, recognizing the giants' potential as true druids, taught them the art of transmutation.
The giants, savage and formidable in war, contributed significantly to the victory, devouring their dwarven enemies and generating fear among neighboring warriors. Upon returning to Licanul, the giants refused new alliances or claims to resources gained in war.
Some giants, like Pov'Nul, have developed a taste for war and bloodshed. They chose to found a new colony in the north, allying themselves with Belatria.
Despite welcoming all races into their city, they decided that the dwarves would be enslaved until they paid for their freedom, offering them the opportunity to follow an independent path once this was achieved.
